Description
The Addressable Fire Systems Training course is a two-day hands-on training focused on installing, programming, and troubleshooting Potter addressable fire alarm systems, including AFC and IPA Series panels. Through a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on exercises, participants gain practical experience with system hardware, SLC devices, P-Link communication, and Potter’s Fire Panel Programming software. Key topics include input/output configuration, zoning, P-Comm communication, keypad and annunciator operation, and Integrated Voice hardware. Participants will complete guided and independent programming exercises to build real-world system scenarios. Ethernet cables will be provided for use in class.
This training is geared towards those responsible for installing fire alarm systems and is suitable for customers using Potter’s non-proprietary AFC Series fire panels and Potter’s IPA authorized ESDs. A basic knowledge of fire alarm systems with some exposure to addressable fire panel programming concepts is recommended.
Training will take place from 8:30am to 4:30pm on both days. Upon completion, the attendee will have the tools to successfully install, program and start-up a Potter Addressable fire alarm system.
Day 1 will focus on panel programming software, including common programming scenarios and Integrated Voice programming.

- Practical applications and hands-on programming instruction on live panels, detectors, and modules
